flea market fun

last week number two joined me to the long beach flea market. I had never been before.

we had gone to the pasadena flea market but i always leave that place empty handed.

things just seem to be overly priced {or i'm getting cheap}.

we found this great old tool box, i love the red rusty color.

there were lots of fun things to look at, he was really interested in the toys

these horses were just dreamy.

i was really liking the old rusty bikes, isn't this basket cute?

i bought this iron boxer for hubby, i just loved it, i never find boxers anything.

you notice the resemblance?

riley was pretty curious too, he took a nibble to it.

number two's pick, it will look great with a christmas tree tied to the back.

and i bought this sweet camera for my collection, loved it!

number two and mom, we had lots of fun together :)
we plan on going back soon to find more goodies.

farmer's market

last week i went to the local farmer's market.

this beauty caught my eye, an artichoke flower

this a green bean, the color was beautiful, i wish i would have remembered the name

the colors of the fruits and veggies are just mesmerizing.

everything looked fresh and delicious.

 though i did not take a picture of the nectarines and peaches

{i was too busy taste testing} they were both beautiful and delicious.

these are tuberose flowers and they smell divine.

and because i couldn't resist, a succulent plant 

i am just loving succulents lately.

this one looks like a flower.

 farmer's markets are a great place to get your veggies and fruits and other goodies.

i can't wait to visit again this week.

i am looking forward to another batch of yummy nectarines,

sweet delicious ones, not like the ones you get at the market.

l.a. zoo trip

last week we took the boys to the los angeles zoo.

 it was a nice day, not too hot, but some of the animals were in hiding.

i guess i would rather be in the shade than in the hot sun.

i took my camera but it was a bit obtrusive and i didn't take very many pictures, it happens.

i think the zebra is such a beautiful animal. 

did you know that every zebra's stripes are different, no two are alike.

even chimps need prayer :)

i managed to get some good shots of this giraffe.

 love that tongue, didn't notice it until i uploaded my pictures :)

this old guy just looks so sad, i guess i would be too...just saying.

i wanted to get some shots of the elephants but every time we went to see them they were not there.
wonder where you hide elephants?

 finally a {semi decent} shot of my boys, all looking the same way.

it was a fun day. we enjoy spending time together as a family. summer's are great.

a trip to the natural history museum to see the new exhibit
it was their reward for being good students.

this triceratops was super cool....

the boys had lots of fun learning and exploring.

we stopped at chipotle for dinner and had fun driving home

we shared a good laugh.
